Rating: - Works in the right garden, but not the best peanut feeder
We tried this in one garden and it was more or less untouched and as another reviewer has said, the peanuts mouldered (though the same happened in a conventional feeder) In a different garden it is being visited frequently by squirrels and birds. The conventional feeder is preferred but the squirrels have been able to cause a bit of damage to that, whereas this feeder is completely intact.
The hook it comes with is quite small.

Having sppent much time and money repairing feeders ravaged by squirrels this seems to be almost 100% squirrel proof. I think the smallish size means squirrels cant get a decent grip and I have not found peanuts on the ground like other so-called squirrel proof feeders.
It works in my garden.

I bought this feeder after squirrels chewed through my other wire feeders - for some reason they can't seem to manage it with this one! They still hang up side down and steal the nuts though. I haven't had any problems with the links breaking - even when full of peanuts and supporting an upside down squirrel! I'd recommend it highly and particularly at the price. Despite the squirrel interest the birds like it too!

I thought it was a great looking feeder and seemed well made. I was WRONG!
When filled with peanuts, or even only half filled, the chain that runs through the feeder (linking the lid) is not strong enough to carry the weight. The links in the chain keep on breaking, have now attepted to reinforce the chain, after three different replacements! The other problem is that the design of the feeder allows the nuts to get wet if raining. This then allows the nuts to go mouldy, which become poisonous. ... Read More
