I've had 3 mags - 2 x 3 cell and 1 mini, and I've always liked 'em, but they do not compare to this thing. This is one of those rare occasions where you find something that a company took pride in getting absolutely right without cutting corners. This is a fantastic torch that cannot be faulted. I don't need anything bigger or smaller or more powerful or with whiter light. Cheap at £26 - you'd pay that for a 3 cell club with a weak, yellow beam.

Read the reviews of this item and couldn't understand how people were getting excited about some thing as boring as a torch. However I did need a new torch and since it was rated very high I brought this model. I now understand, its just so good! I wanted to replace my mini-mag with an LED equivalent, its is easily as well made as mag, but in addition to the mag its much brighter, and since it uses an LED the battery will last much longer. I've always had Maglites and thought them to be OK....strong enough but never that bright. Just received the LED LENSER POLICE TECH FOCUS from Amazon. Absolutely superb! Light, small, well built and incredibly powerful for a torch using 3 x AA's. An intense light with a slightly bluish tinge which is no problem. The Maglite light looks very dull and yellowish by comparison. Million times better than Maglite. Thoroughly recommended and good service from Amazon as usual.

I used to carry a 3-cell maglite and a mini-maglite for work - not any more.
If you can get one the brightness of a large 3-cell torch in the size of a pocket, why have two?!
This torch is about twice the width of the mini-maglite, but the same length - so it still fits well on your belt. (even with a leatherman.)
The big plus is I can get rid of both maglites.
It's not cheap - but it's worth the money.

This torch is very bright and the build quality is excellent. The focus ability sets it apart. You could spend alot more money on an LED torch but there is no point. I would highly recommend this torch to anyone looking to upgrade to LED.
