Rating: - Completely ineffective trap
I have been using the trap for about a month and I kept finding it shut but with the bait gone. I then finally saw the squirrel enter it once and the trap closing on its back. It then proceeded to take one of the nuts I had left and back out of the trap. The problem is that it is simply too small for a fully grown squirrel, it is not spring loaded and only relies on gravity to close the trap door. The door then does not lock shut until fully closed. This trap is much too weak and too small for a fully-grown grey squirrel. Having bought one and caught nothing in three weeks (although the bait had gone) I was fortunate enough to witness what happened. The squirrel entered the trap and was able to take the bait whilst the door just descended onto his back. When he had finished, he just backed out.
